Cannot Discern ~ her poetry

Cannot Discern

My hand hovers
Over your empty jar
Never one to pass
Despite who you are
And yet
Opportunity arises
To sew a seed of faith
Battles rage within
My hand passes over
I go on my way
Is it the stillness telling me not?
Is it the bitterness
You gave, you got?
I cannot be sure
I cannot discern
I admit I’ve many lessons to learn
The jar remains empty
I do not laugh or grin
But there’s an odd stirring
Of questions within
And so with tears streaming
I whisper a prayer
It is because of you
This burden I bear
Is it anger
Or is it just wise
to tune out the pleas
Of the one who despised?
