To the Daughter I do not know

The daughter I do not know
When you was born
I cried tears of joy
I bought you your first princess wand toy
You were only 7 months when prison came and took me away
I did not know what to do
I did not know what to say
Even though I don’t know who you are
You may be a million miles away but to me, you’re not that far
Your mom and I had our differences in life
I was wrong she was right
I missed a lot of years of your life
There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of you not even a night
You have grown into a beautiful young lady
Make sure you stay away from the bad boys even the ones that are shady
To the daughter I do not know I hope that one day we both can share the same home
